about

Late one night as I was showering with my lovely lady-friend, we began to hear a sound that seemed to be coming from the very shower we were standing in. It was startling, discomforting, unsettling. Interestingly though, it came at a time of immense comfort: a relaxing shower with a close loved one. After leaving the shower, we investigated the source of the noise, leading us to the side of my home, where we realize that there was, in fact, a Raccoon scraping the underside of the Bathtub with his claws. .. This brings me to the theme of the next Octopocalypse LP, Raccoons Under the Bathtub, which I am pleased to announce is well into production. Raccoons Under the Bathub places a heavy emphasis on the contrast between the Comforting and the discomforting. From the sounds of little children singing, to the disturbing sounds of a pan flute duet with a harmonica, this album is our most strange and disturbing effort yet. .. I hate to disappoint fans of Pants Party, but that was just a short exploration of the possibilities of the hip hop genre. Songs on Raccoons Under the Bathtub take sounds from "When Platapi Come a Knockin'?" to the next level. These songs are even more abstract and bizarre then ever before, and make heavier use of live sounds, rather than the heavy digital instrumentation of the first album. Raccoons Under the Bathtub also features the first Octopocalypse song created entirely with real rock instruments, as well as being produced by the fabulous Spleen Machine and also featuring rapping by the world famous Darrell Collins. In order to proceed properly with the ritual to bring about these 8 apocalypses, we were also forced to have a bunny lay down guitar tracks for a certain song on the record
