Pants Party is the second release for Octopocalypse, following this years earlier "When Platapi Come a Knockin?" The album is decisively hip-hop oriented. Fred and Dev found themselves late one night watching a runway fashion show on BET and were immediately inspired. Fred took to the internet moments later, making incriminating promises about the possibility of the Octopocalypse rap album.

Like "When Platapi Come a Knockin?" "Pants Party" is a concept album, staying true to thematic elements of other rap songs with an emphasis on sexuality, allowing for collaboration of multiple musical partners at the same time. Each track on Pants Party features a cameo from a local Monterey hip-hop artist.
